Beginners Wood Burning Art Class (Pyrography)
February 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$25 – $40
Commit your drawing to wood at this beginners wood burning art class. Start by outlining an image to a slab of wood then shading it in with heat, watch the wood turn to charcoal right in front of you. Use this technique to create anything from signs to landscapes. All materials and tools that you need will be provided and you will be leaving with your very own creation!
Learn how a hot iron can be used in different ways to create a variety of shades and designs. While this is a beginners wood burning art class, feel free to put your own twist on it or look up techniques beforehand to test out.
Can’t draw? No worries! Premade templates and sketches will be available for you to use as a guide. Just make sure you remember how to color inside the lines! 🙂
Your instructor for this class will be Daniel Saville; as a member of Catalyst Space, he has expanded his passions and learned new skills. Dan has a life long passion for pottery and ceramics, you can check out some of his creations at Sniklefritz Studios. When not covered in clay you will often find Dan covered in sawdust as he sharpens his woodworking skills. In addition to the Altoona PA pottery class, Dan instructs a wide range of classes right here at Catalyst Space.
