Woodworking Basics – The Box
April 18 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm$35
Just about everything you could build starts with knowing how to make a basic box. Whether you are making cabinets, drawers, bookcases, desks or beds they are all just variations of the humble box. This is a great first project if you are just getting into woodworking, and there are lots and lots of ways to make boxes with all different kinds of joinery. In this woodworking class, you will learn the simple rabbit joint method that can be used almost every time. It is quick, strong, and gives you nice square corners without a lot of fuss.
You will be leaving with your very own handmade box! Bring it back during any of the CNC or laser cutting class to personalize it even more.
This class will be the first in a series of basic woodworking classes. Each class can be attended independently as each one will teach a unique woodworking technique. Woodworking classes are kept to a minimum size to maximize each person’s time on the equipment.
A life longer maker, Justin Merrell has extensive experience creating all sorts of projects. as the founder and board chair of Catalyst Space, he is very familiar with the available resources and will get you up and running with them in no time!
